If you find yourself in a constant weight loss struggle there are things you can do starting today to end this fight. Those who struggle with their weight think and act differently than those who successfully manage their weight and you can learn this new way of thinking and acting. This article will show you how to end your weight loss struggle.
Do you ever wonder how some people seem to manage their weight easily while others (possibly yourself) seem doomed to fight their weight for the rest of their lives? Is the difference in their IQ, better genes or just plain luck? Nope...The difference is in the way they think.
We are so caught up in how much food to eat, what type of foods to eat and when to eat that we forget to think. Now I am not saying that your eating habits aren't important but I am saying that if you feel like you are living under this constant cloud called DIET then you need to rise above it and get a fresh perspective.
Here are three of my client's favorite ways to stop struggling with dieting and start seeing steady results on the scale.
1. Eat mindfully. It is so easy in this hectic world we live in to eat too much without even being conscious we are doing so. This causes us to eat too many calories and sets us up for a constant battle. The remedy is to learn to eat mindfully. There are different ways to go about this but one I would like to share with you is to eat with all five of your senses.
Do an experiment, the next food item you eat, eat it with all 5 of your senses. So I want you to look at the food, then notice any aroma it has, when you bite into it notice if it makes any noise, note it's texture inside your mouth and lastly note the taste. This simple exercise makes you aware of what and how much you are eating.
2. Uncover your true motivation. So often we lose touch of why we originally wanted to lose weight, then when we are hit with stress we see no good reason to stick with our diet. By taking about 15 minutes you can create a list of reasons you want to lose weight, keep writing reasons down until the 15 minutes are up. By doing this you will likely uncover some very heart-felt reasons you want to change and these reasons will become your motivation.
3. Stop negative thoughts before they have time to grow. This is key. It is important for you to know that everyone has thoughts of quitting when they are on a diet, it is what you do with these thoughts that determines your outcome. When you hear those inevitable thoughts telling you to quit, say CANCEL and switch your thought to a positive. If you don't do this you will continue to let the thought grow inside of you until its temptation is too great and you give in to it.
Losing weight is a challenge but you can rise above the weight loss struggle when you learn to eat mindfully, find your true motivation and control your negative thoughts.
I would like to help you end your weight loss struggle.

11 Common Causes of Varicose and Spider Veins
| Published in Aging, Diet Technique, Exercise, health, Health Care |
Once you know what is causing your varicose veins and spider veins, it is much easier to successfully treat the condition. Save yourself a lot of time and energy needlessly trying methods that don't work and restore your legs to their former beauty. You have a better chance of fixing leg vein problems when you understand what causes them.
11 common causes of varicose and spider veins are:
1. Aging - Aging is the most important cause of unhealthy legs. Frequent hormonal fluctuations during pregnancy and menopause cause many older women to lose elasticity and tone in leg veins.
2. Diet - Poor diet is a another major factor causing loss of skin elasticity. The result of nutritional deficiencies is decreased leg circulation causing legs and ankles to swell possibly resulting in leg vein problems.
3. Genetics - If your mother, father, brother or sister have varicose veins, spider veins or tired legs, you may be more likely than those with no family history of these symptoms to develop the condition.
4. Poorly functioning valves - One-way valves in the deep veins of the legs prevent backward flow of blood within the vein. If they are functioning poorly, blood flows the wrong way from the deep to the superficial veins which become enlarged, twisted and bulging.
5. Pregnancy - In order to support the growing fetus during pregnancy, blood flow is increased in your body, however the flow is decreased from your legs to your pelvis. This increases pressure on leg veins and may weaken them. Added weight gain during pregnancy may put a strain on leg veins.
6. Heavy lifting - Repeated heavy lifting interferes with good leg circulation and increases the likelihood of vein problems developing in the future.
7. Sitting or standing - Standing and walking upright for long periods of time can increase pressure in your leg veins and in your lower body. That is the reason the veins most commonly affected are those in your lower legs and feet.
8. Obesity - Excessive weight gain puts pressure on the legs, increasing the likelihood of developing varicose veins. Tall, obese women are more likely to develop venous problems or experience tired, painful legs.
9. Lack of Exercise - Lack of exercise such as walking, swimming or bicycling for instance, can result in added pressure on veins and poor blood circulation in the legs.
10. Tight Clothing - High heels and garments that are tight, especially around the waist can restrict your venous blood flow causing pooling of blood and poor circulation in lower legs and ankles.
11. Smoking - If you smoke be aware that it contributes to elevated blood pressure, which can aggravate existing vein and leg problems.
Any or all of these common causes could be affecting you adversely. If you want to know exactly what is causing your leg vein condition, a simple ultrasound can tell you. Unfortunately, no medical treatment can prevent new veins from becoming swollen or painful. Before undergoing any procedure, ask your doctor about any health risks and possible side effects.
In many cases, varicose and spider veins are simply a cosmetic concern and can be reduced and flattened using natural treatments so that they are not noticeable. Even ulcerated veins respond extremely well to natural treatments that contain natural healing herbal infusions. Nature can heal us and return our legs to their original beauty and attractiveness.
Alternative therapies continue to be the method of choice for most people. Surgical procedures tend to be quite invasive and costly. In a recent issue of Canadian Living Magazine, natural creams such as the one made by Venus Naturals was highlighted as one way to get rid of varicose veins.
Francine, co-owner of Venus Naturals, has been working with a master herbalist and an aromatherapist since 1996 to develop natural, effective solutions to reduce and eliminate varicose and spider veins. For more information on varicose vein treatment visit the Venus Naturals website.

How to Lose 10 Pounds Fast With One Simple Diet Technique
Sunday, June 7, 2009 | Published in Diet Technique, Weight Loss |

If you want to know how to lose the last 10 pounds fast, you're not alone. This is a common problem among those who have lost some weight and get stuck with the final ten to go.
The reason why is because at this point you don't have as much margin for error as you may have before. If you want to lose those last ten pounds your workouts have to progress, you diet has to be more specific, carbohydrates, protein and fat ratios become more criticial, you calorie requirements must change, meal timing is a factor and these are just some important variables.
The list below contains 7 tips to help you lose the last 10 pounds quickly:
1. Cycle Your Calories- Do this once or twice each week on non-consecutive days by adding an extra 300-500 calories. The bump up in calories on these days will keep your metabolism from slowing down.
2. Perform Cardio Intervals- Doing cardio in your "fat burning zone" doesn't really burn that many calories and it can have a negative effect if you do too much of it. Switch to intervals where you do a high-intensity 'work' bout followed immediately by a lower intensity 'rest' bout. For example, sprinting at 85% of your fastest speed for 30 seconds followed by walking at 60% of your fastest speed for 60-90 seconds. Repeat this for 10-30 minutes.
3. Take Your Workouts To The Next Level- You can do this by challenging yourself to perform better than your previous workouts. A great way to do this is to time your workouts and try to finish your workouts in the fastest time possible. Each time you repeat the workout try to beat your previous time. This is a sure-fire way to spark fat loss and get rid of the last 10 lbs.
4. Increase Resistance Training Days- If you're training with weights 3 days per week consider adding a 4th day. For example, if your current resistance training schedule is:
* Monday-Wednesday-Friday
Add another day and it can look like this:
* Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday
Putting back-to-back days can boost your metabolism to burn those final ten pounds of fat quickly.
5. Evening Workouts- At night your metabolism begins to slow down (if you work during the daytime) because you're less active. An evening workout can boost your metabolism during and in the hours after your workout. You'll burn more calories even while you're sleeping.
6. Cut Out Simple Carbs- Simple carbs easily convert to sugar in your body which causes your insulin levels to rise. Insulin makes it harder to lose fat and easier to store fat. You can keep your insulin levels lower by eliminating or greatly reducing white flour, white rice, white breads, refined and processed foods, foods that come in a box, sugar, alcohol, soda, chips, candy and all other junk food.
7. Eat More Protein- Your body uses energy to digest all the food you eat. Different foods use different amounts of energy depending on what they are. Breaking down and digesting protein requires more energy than carbohydrates and fats. So, substituting protein for some carbs during your day can help give your metabolism the boost it needs to drop those final 10 pounds.
You can apply just one or two of these tips at a time and see what results you get before trying anymore. This way you can assess what works and what doesn't for you. But, even just 1 or 2 of these can make all the difference for you and help you lose those last 10 pounds fast.
